The Naylor Family Photoshoot

This Sunday was the first frosty start to a morning we’ve had for a while and I started it in the lovely grounds of the Bowes Museum with the Naylor Family.

We started at 9am with frost still on the ground and bright low light breaking through the trees. The temperatures were hanging around the zero mark so we started by running around a little to get the blood flowing!

Claire really wanted an image of all the kids together, which she thought might be a challenge with Scarlett only being small and Nathan in his ‘terrible two’ stage, so I started the session with the group image in mind to ensure that the main shot was achieved before the kids got too tired or cold.

Bowes Museum Grounds

Nathan wanted to explore the grounds rarther than have his picture taken (don’t blame him) so it took a few attempts to get the shot but it was worth the wait when it arrived with a lovely smile from the little man.

“it took a few attempts to get the shot but it was worth the wait when it arrived with a lovely smile from the little man.”

Once the family shot was in the bag we moved on to the park area of the grounds where the kids could all go their own way and forget about the camera pointing at them. I love to use a longer lens at this point of the shoot so I can stand back out of their way to get some natural shots of kids doing what they do best… Playing!

The low light and the fading colours of Autumn in the trees gave some great bokeh to the images and by using a low aperature it blurred the background out to give a nice soft contrast behind the subject.

With the high winds recently taking the leaves from the trees it meant there was an awful lot on the ground, which gave myself and Ruby sometime to experiment with some different portraits. Ruby was a brilliant little model, even coming up with her own poses in the leaves and the shots show her happy caring nature.

Meanwhile Nathan was just warming up and started to show his cheeky chappy side in front of the camera when playing in the park, he has a lovely wide smile which lights up any image.

Before we all lost the feeling in our hands and feet we had to call it a day and retreat to the warmth of the car! It was a tricky shoot with the conditions being so bright and cold but everyone enjoyed themselves and we got some great shots from the session.

Claire Naylor reviewed: “Great photoshoot with Daniel, thanks for your patience and time. Fabulous with young children wanting to run free great prices definitely recommend”.

Friendly Relaxed Portrait Sessions

It brings me great pleasure when a client chooses me to capture images of their loved ones. I aim to provide a friendly and relaxed experience to all clients, which allows everyone to enjoy the photoshoot. The more relaxed you are with me behind the camera the more of your personality will show in the final images.

I have travelled to many different locations around the North East for photoshoots and just love working with new customers in different locations. All my packages include a shoot tailored to you, so if there is that one special location you have fond memories of then why not capture those memories.
